RCS and Diego Barrera’s new label MODULATED FREQUENCY, releases the 1st reference KINKY HAIR EP, by the Arubian artist Dr. TINIEBLAS.
After recently releasing the single Mirln on Not Allowed label’s VA017. Aruba based Venezuelan producer Dr. Tinieblas debuts the colorful solo Kinky Hair EP, on the new Spanish label Modulated Frequency.
Modulated Frequency is a label that arises from the link between RCS (Reverbs Records) and Diego Barrera (Valetronic). With the goal of launching music into space, walking the eclectic lines of minimalist melodies.
The EP opens with All Night Long, where Dr. Tinieblas unleashes a minimalist groove. A cut full of glitchy textures, gentle melodies and a lead vocal allusive to the cut’s title, that gives a great addition to the tune. A hypnotic groove softened by subtle melodies and that peculiar voice.
It is followed by the EP’s title track, the captivating Kinky Hair, a cut made up of perc rhythms and funky 80’s harmonies. Dr. Tinieblas also includes a spicy air flute melody and some tiny vocal flashes that elevate the energy to untold levels. To close the EP, we have Iones, a thrilling cut full of powerful beats and avant garde trippy melodies. It is a brilliant song with elegant nuances and relaxing soundscapes.
