Bandcamp is bringing back its "Bandcamp Fridays" fundraiser. Where the music platform waives its share of the profits on purchases made.

The first Friday of every month from March 2020. Bandcamp has waived its revenue share to help out the many artists who have had their livelihoods disrupted by the pandemic.

Over the course of 21 days, fans have paid artists and record labels more than $78 million. Helping to cover rents, mortgages, groceries, medications and much more. «If you are among the nearly 800,000 fans who have participated, thank you!» – Says the platform

The next Bandcamp Friday kicks off on September 2, and will continue on October 7, November 4 and December 2. As always, isitbandcampfriday.com, has all the details.

This is the first news from «Bandcamp Fridays» since the last one, which took place last May 6. Since that date, the platform did not mention anything about the future of the Fridays series. Originally launched on the first Friday of March 2020.

If you’ve started to feel guilty about buying music on any other day of the month, here’s something to keep in mind. On Bandcamp Fridays, an average of 93% of your money makes it to the artist/label (after payment processor fees).

If you make a purchase any other day (as millions of people have done, with close to a billion dollars paid directly to artists), an average of 82% reaches the artist/label.

«Every day is a good day to support artists on Bandcamp.»
