The Colombian artist STIVEN ESCARRAGA leads the new BANGKOK EP, with 03 solid minimalist gems for Play Groove Recordings.
With a 2021 full of EPs on labels such as Arte Profundo, Cee Music, Wachufleiva and Bomgba, Armenian producer Stiven Escarraga releases a delightful solo EP on the Spanish label.
Bangkok is the title of the Colombian artist’s new issue. A refreshing EP where Stiven Escarraga shapes 03 exquisite minimalist cuts, to which he adds sublime melodies and elegant soundscapes.
The EP kicks off with the Bangkok cut, where Escarraga prints a slow burning groove, fresh and filled with elegant toppings. A cut dominated by mellow atmospheres, slightly funky bassline and small melodic stabs that combine in great balance.
Halfway through the EP, we find the gem Mae, which like the first cut, emanates sweet and subtle harmonies to our senses. Loaded with syncopated drums and a bassline with a life of its own, it is a fun and soulful track for the dancefloor. Finally, we have the experimental cut Tokaj, where the Colombian presents great Rominimal and microhouse influence in its rhythmic skeleton. Full of glitches, processed vocals and delightful sound tweaks, it’s a song that transports us into a futuristic setting.
