PINEAL BARCELONA x HOUSEUM «Caribbean Tour 2022»

We recently spoke with the guys from Pineal Barcelona and Houseum. Precisely with Angelo Cortines and Marc Brauner about their recent tour in Dominican Republic.

Barcelona-based agency and promoters Pineal and French record label Houseum. Joined forces on a tropical adventure to bring their talents to the Dominican Republic’s electronic music scene.

Artists Marc Brauner and Angelo Cortines embarked on this journey of sharing their music with a distinctive crowd going to the best electronic music clubs in the country and diving into the island rhythm.

The guys started the tour on October 28th at High Club, Punta Cana. The underground club for the locals of this very touristic town, run by Dj Felipe Alemais.

Then on Sunday they performed at Soles. A legendary bar with over 20 years of experience supporting the electronic scene in the DR. Where they had the pleasure of sharing the stage with its owner Taro and Dj Corderow of Island beats records.

Both High Club and Soles Beach Bar were chosen among the top 16 best clubs in the Caribbean by Mixmag Caribbean magazine.

The 2nd week of the tour, Marc and Angelo embarked on the road to discover the wonders of the island. As unfortunately 2 beach events were canceled due to the damage caused by Hurricane Fiona, just a few weeks before their arrival.

Tropical weather always surprises you, but it’s beautiful to be on the beach with the sun hitting you in the face, drizzle and 2 rainbows, all at the same time. It’s a vibe…

Angelo Cortines & Marc Brauner

In the 3rd and last week of the tour, Angelo and Marc visited the capital Santo Domingo. Where they played for a new generation of electronic music lovers at the Gypsy Inc and Zoresti event. Along with local artists “Max Brachais, Kamiel and Paol”.

On our trip we spent many hours in the car together and shared all kinds of music, including Marc’s new album coming out on Houseum Records in May  and Angelo´s new track ¨enter anubis¨ out in February with the new Dominican label, Morir Soñando records. It was the perfect playlist for exploring beaches, rivers, lagoons, mountains and national parks.

Truth is, Dominicans love music, it’s blasting everywhere!. So Marc and Angelo found it very natural to join the locals on some improv. jam sessions at random bars. Playing instruments to the beat of Latin music such as merengue, bachata and salsa. Undoubtedly a unique experience for them. 

This was a tour full of love, adventures and good vibes. Leaving the island with a warm memory in their hearts. And making it clear that from this trip will come new music and a lot of desire to continue exploring the Caribbean scene and the world.
